haha, today's title shall be my orientation's theme: Vita Nova... meaning New Lifeokay, so what? i'm now in tampines jc a.k.a tpjc... i guess in some ppl's mind that doesn't sound very good right? haha, me too... initially when i got my posting results... BUT everything changed when i attended their orientation... was it because of the very enthu OGLs or because my OGMs were nice? that i have no idea... but just thought that things isn't as bad as i thought... then again, i was told by someone that jc organise their orientation with one thought in mind... to keep the students from appealing... haiz... that leads me to my problem that i am facing now... well, just as i said, i was not really happy when i first received my posting results and since like everyone beside me were all saying some things (let's not go into that), i decided to appeal and my parents were super super supportive of that decision... and so i handed in my appeal form to the all-time favourites... mj... BUT after attending orientation, somehow, a part of me just thought that staying there isn't all that bad... then again, another part thinks that it's for the better of my education (you know, from all the things that they say, no offence)... so i am like torn apart now... guess i'll just leave it to heaven's will... Monday decides it all... receive a phone call before 4 and off i go... if not... i'll stay... no complaints...okay, so now about the thing that made the decision so hard for me... THE ORIENTATION... first thing first... i heard from eileen like this year, we are super lucky cause the organising committee really put in lots of efforts because of what they went through last year (ok, i'm summarising this part) and so.. ya, i don't know what else alrdy... okay, so orientation like all others started with talks... blah blah blah... then the games and stuff... i guess all other orientations are like these... but somehow, it just had this thing that attracted me... made me feel that everyday was fun... tp's orientation had like a theme... they made an effort to link all their programmes together into a story so everything was meaningful i guess... we were split into OGs like all other schools and then we had clans : Tarnia,
Pheoria,
Jernites,
Chika muaga...
i'm in OG12 and so am in Pheoria... the story started with the world coming to an end... i know rite... that's why vita nova... okay, so we J1s are known as survivors... so we came to the only safe place left... tpj and found that it has a shift called the titanic mobile (they had a "titanic" in school) but it was in ruins.. and so we were split into clans to compete with one another to rebuild the ship and find resources to survive and save the human race i think... so, every time they start a game, they will have story lines and videos to make it feel more linked to topic... but i found it really fun and interesting... maybe cause i have never experienced an orientation like this before...a few things i would like to introduce... - My fun, caring OGLs: Melanie, Farihin, Shi Jie, Yuk Hei- My OG who takes initiative: OG12, Pegasus- My OG cheer:pump, pump, pump it up, G12 gonna pump it up

one more will be the songs that have stayed in my head over the few days: one thing, dj got us falling in love again ('12 J1 mass dance), dynamite ('11 J1 mass dance), stereo heart... haha, random...
they had mass dance, sing-along, clan time, amazing race at sentosa... i guess my OG also contribute to why i find the orientation so fun... cause almost everyone will participate in games... haha, yesterday after the finale ended, we went to airport to have dinner as an OG along with all our OGLs... they looked surprised to find out that we actually wrote a card for them, somehow, it's fun looking at them read it on the bus ride to airport... so there at t1, we wanted to eat at pizza hut but is surprised that we actually had a total of 16 ppl (if everyone came, then it would be round 20 plus) so we wondered if the place could fit us all... the person told us that they would inform us once they have place and so we decided to sit down at a empty space on the second floor beside a restaurant and started placing murder... super fun!!! then play until 8 plus or so then go and check and finally they had a place... one of the waiter i think sort of challenge us by not writing down our orders and if he made a mistake, he would give us a complimentary fries... though we didn't win (i'm super amazed cause i still make mistakes even taking down orders on order pads...) he still gave us a bread... haha... o and last thing... they suddenly played birthday song and we were like joking around wondering whose birthday it was until they presented a single scoop of ice cream with a candle to one of my OGLs, Shi Jie then we found out it was actually for him... it was his birthday on 2 feb... haha, surprise for him and for some of us too... me la... then, after that we took a group photo before separating ways.. split into two groups, bua and mrt... i took bus along with one OGL cause we both live in pasir ris... the bus came while the others were still figuring out what bus so we went first... at first still very worried will be awkward but i guess it turned out fine because he took initiative to chat with me and so, it's quite fun
oh yeah, one more thing... haha, so fun... going to tpj allowed me to see my primary school friends... have chuan yin, stanley, wen jing... randomness again...haha, guess that's all for now... think will have some more updates soon... keep in touch... and hope everything turns out fine...
